Time savers


10 things you can do throughout the day to give yourself a metabolism boost! Great for those who do not have time to work out or are simply too tired at the end of the working day to do a 15 minute workout.


1. Do 5-10 squats in the morning/in the toilet cubicle/at night
2. Crunches on the sofa- 20x every advertisement break
3. The Vacuum- Sit up straight and suck in your abdomen towards your spine. Count to 20 and let go. Repeat 10 times. (Great exercise done by athletes and martial artists!)
4. 10 jumping jacks (works the whole body)
5. 10 Jump lunges
6. 10 push ups (modified or otherwise)
7. 10 star jumps
8. Plank (1 min) and Superman(1 min)- repeat 3 times
9. Grab your resistance band and do some military presses, rows and bicep curls.- Till you feel the burn
10. Do one of these short bursts of exercises through the day! (e.g. Every toilet break, every 4 hours etc)

By doing these exercises, some of which takes barely 1 minute, you'd be surprised at how much you are helping your body gain more energy, boost your metabolism and burn calories. By doing them in phases (e.g,. every 4 hours), you actually fit in more exercise than you thought you could! You could have done 5-10 minutes of exercise by the end of the day, EVERYDAY! That's a great start for beginners or those who just want that extra boost in their sluggish day.
